Carbon Neutral

Carbon Neutral

"Carbon Neutral" means "not producing additional greenhouse gases." To achieve carbon neutrality, green electricity is a key requirement, unless we stop using electricity. TSMC and Hon Hai have both announced that to achieve carbon neutrality, there must be sufficient green power available at their production sites around the world, which tells us that Taiwan cannot play a role in the international green supply chain without sufficient green power supply. Green power includes renewable energy, but renewable energy does not equate to all green power.
Does green power only refer to solar and wind power? According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, green power includes solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, biogas, small hydropower. and even nuclear power, as long as it produces low or even zero carbon emissions.
